Short‐term enrichment of microalgae with inorganic selenium and zinc and their effects on the mineral composition of microalgae and marine rotifer <i>Brachionus plicatilis</i>

Rotifers are widely used as a live prey for finfish larvae, although their content in minerals such selenium and zinc is lower than fish. In the present study, mixed microalgae (i.e., Isochrysis aff. galbana Nannochloropsis oculata) were enriched with different amounts of Se Zn either alone (45, 90, 135 mg L−1 Zn, 60, 120, 180 Se) or (22.5, 45, 90 30, 120 L−1). The was analysed after 1 3 h enrichment effect on growth mineral composition rotifer. Based results, time Se, respectively, resulted highest amount microalgae. maximum detected rotifers fed +120 but observed Se. Thus, Se- Zn-enriched can be delivery method to cover marine fish larvae nutritional requirements.
